Albury Hall - Further information

We are thankful to Nicholas Hawley who provided this information from a family photo album in April 2008. Click on an image to bring up the original sized version in a new window.

"I am enclosing copies of two photos of Albury Hall that might be of interest to you. They are from my grandfather's (Cyril Francis Hawley), photograph album. He was married in London on 10th July 1912 to Ursula Mary St.John and they "motored down to Albury  Hall, Hertfordshire,  lent by the bride's uncle, for the first part of the honeymoon". This suggests that the house was habitable, but unoccupied at this time. The two photographs appear to have been professionally taken, the prints are very sharp and the images well preserved. The one showing the service wing is taken before the mansard roof was added. My grandfather was killed during 1915 in the first World War. Since the photographs are nearly 100 years old you are welcome to publish them on your web site if you so wish."

"I enclose four more photographs of Albury Hall from a later album. The page is titled "Albury Hall 1919". The photos are small contact prints from a roll film. "
